The exhibition Art.1 is a collaboration between Tiranas LGBT rights organization Aleanca Kundër Diskriminimit të LGBT and the Swedish Unstraight Museum. Art.1 is the 2nd LGBT exhibition in Albania’s history ever and sets, located in the entrance of the National Historical Museum, a significant milestone for the LGBT movement.
The exhibition contains one part contributed by the Albanian LGBT community, their members and artists and one part brought by the Unstraight Museum which works together with nameable Swedish museums like the Police Museum, The Royal Armoury or The Nobel Museum. Each chosen object deals with and refers to the daily life reality of people who are seen as unstraight persons due to their sexual orientation. Art.1 raises awareness for LGBT rights in Albania through its well elaborated selection of these exhibited objects. Taking the first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as its point of departure, Art. 1 take a small step in the long struggle to secure equal rights for all mankind. Art. 1 is a touring exhibition and will be open for public until Sunday 26th. The exhibition is located at the ground floor of the National Historical Museum (address:Sheshi Skënderbej). Opening Times:

Saturday 25th: Panel “Who’s afraid of the L Word?” The positioning of lesbians within the feminist movement in Albania and the Balkans. How do the heteronormative and the patriarchal standards influence the invisibility of lesbians? Identification of a number of key problems faced by lesbians.
Sunday 26th: Finissage Art.1 3-5pm with drinks and speeches.
